A Delhi court on Monday allowed the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to close the case of first year Jawaharlal Nehru University student Najeeb Ahmed, who went missing on October 15, 2016, saying the agency 'exhausted all options'.
The CBI would also investigate the killing of two persons by the police in Majhaul in Begusarai district on December 23, the Bihar CM said.
The Delhi high court, on Tuesday, dismissed as "premature" the plea of former Indian cricketers Kirti Azad, Bishan Singh Bedi and others seeking a court-monitored probe by CBI or SIT into the alleged financial irregularities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association.

Journalist and author Chitra Subramaniam has demanded that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) make public its findings from the "box of evidence" received from Switzerland regarding the Bofors payoffs. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed an appeal in the Calcutta High Court seeking the death penalty for Sanjay Roy, who was sentenced to "life imprisonment until death" for the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The CBI argued that the crime falls under the "rarest of rare" category deserving capital punishment, while the trial court had ruled otherwise.
